Visit of the group from the Danish Institute for Study Abroad at the VYI

A group of American students visited the Vilnius Yiddish Institute at Vilnius University on 6^th of October 2009. This is a study trip of the American students to Europe focusing on history and present of Lithuania and learning about migrations, nation building and civic society. The VYI’s Assistant Director, Ms. Ruta Puisyte gave a lecture on the Lithuanian Jewish history and how the country views its Holocaust past and present. After the lecture and discussion Ms Puisyte guided students through the old Jewish quarter and the former Vilna Ghetto.

It was the second visit of the American students to the Vilnius Yiddish Institute organized by the Danish Institute for Study Abroad.
