Vilnius Seminar Series on the Eastern European Jewish Heritage

Prof. Antony Polonsky, a world renowned authority on the history of East European Jewry with emphasis on Poland and Lithuania, presented his lecture at a joint event organized by the History Department of Vilnius University, Mykolas Romeris University and the Vilnius Yiddish Institute.
Antony Polonsky is Professor of Holocaust Studies at Brandeis University and the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum. He is a leading authority on East-European Jewish history with a speciality in Polish-Jewish relations.
Professor Polonsky is founder of the Institute for Polish-Jewish Studies at Oxford, vice president of the American Association for Polish-Jewish Studies, a former member of the International Council of the State Museum at Auschwitz, and editor-in-chief of Polin, the leading international series of scholarly collections on Polish-Jewish studies.
The event attracted professors, students and people interested in Lithuanian Jewish History. The lecture, questions, and discussions were moderated by Prof. Alfredas Bumblauskas and Prof. Sarunas Liekis.
