Conference in Jerusalem March 2009

Prof. Sarunas Liekis presented the paper “Koniuchy" in the ' “New” and “Old” Polish Memory” ' at the conference, “Between Coexistence and Divorce”, held at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem.
This conference was a joint academic event between the Hebrew, Cracow Jagiellonian  and Brandeis universities. One of the most important conferences on the issue of Polish-Jewish  relations, it was supported by the Simon Dubnow Institute in Leipzig, Adam Mickiewicz Institute in Warsaw, Gotteiner Institute in Haifa, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Israel and the National Commission of UNESCO in Israel. The conference which hosted 40 scholars and took place over four days was opened by  the rector of the Hebrew University Prof. Menachem Magidor and Polish ambassador in Israel Agnieszka Magdziak-Miszewska.
